Who you're booking with

These terms apply when you book a stay directly with Lavie Maison (via lavie.maison or by email). Lavie Maison is the operator and your contractual partner. If you book the same apartment via Airbnb or Booking.com, the platform's terms apply instead — not these.

Booking and payment

Bookings are confirmed once payment is captured by Stripe and you receive a confirmation email. The total shown at checkout is what you pay — it includes the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and city tax (taxe de séjour). No additional fees are added afterwards.

Currency is EUR. We accept all major credit cards and bank transfers for stays over €1,500.

Direct bookings are guaranteed to match or beat the same dates on Airbnb / Booking.com — if you find the exact same apartment cheaper on a platform, send us a screenshot and we'll match it.

Check-in and check-out

Check-in is fully autonomous: you receive a unique door code by email two days before arrival. You can arrive any time after 14:00 (or earlier for some apartments — your confirmation email tells you the exact time).

If you arrive before check-in, free luggage drop is available from 11:15 at most apartments — just let us know.

Check-out is by 11:00. Leave the keys / code is automatically revoked. Late check-out can be arranged if the apartment isn't booked back-to-back; ask us by email or phone.

Cancellation policy

Standard cancellation: free cancellation up to 14 days before check-in for a full refund. Between 14 and 7 days, 50% refund. Less than 7 days, no refund.

Long stays (28+ nights): different terms apply — see your specific booking confirmation.

Force majeure: if you're unable to travel due to government travel bans, natural disasters or strikes affecting the destination, we'll always work with you to either reschedule or refund. We're humans first.

Your stay

The apartment is rented to you for the dates booked and for the number of guests declared at booking. Adding extra people without telling us is grounds for cancellation without refund.

Smoking is not allowed inside any of our apartments. Most apartments are pet-friendly — please tell us before booking if you're traveling with an animal.

Parties and events are not allowed. We rent homes for sleeping, working, eating, walking around the city — not for celebrations. Noise complaints from neighbors can lead to immediate eviction without refund.

You're responsible for the apartment during your stay. Normal wear and tear is on us. Significant damage or missing items will be charged to your card.

Liability

Lavie Maison maintains professional liability insurance. We're not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings inside the apartment — we recommend you have travel insurance.

If something goes wrong during your stay (broken appliance, lockout, wifi down), call us. We try to fix it within the hour during office hours and within 4 hours at night.

Disputes

We hope it never comes to this, but: French law applies. Disputes are first to be raised in writing to sejour@lavie.maison. After that, the competent court is the Tribunal Judiciaire de Paris.

Consumers may also use the EU online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Updates

These terms may be updated. The version in force is the one published on lavie.maison at the moment you book. We'll never apply new restrictive terms retroactively to existing bookings.
