Rue de Javel wakes up slowly — the bakery on the corner, the clatter of a café terrace being wiped down, the metro rumbling somewhere under your feet.

Forty-five square metres, arranged simply: a bedroom with a proper double bed, a sofa bed in the living room, a fireplace as the quiet centrepiece. The kitchen has what you need to actually cook — dishwasher, kettle, wine glasses lined up on the shelf.

Beaugrenelle is the address, but the real pleasure is smaller: the Saturday marché at Boulevard de Grenelle, five minutes on foot, where you buy peaches and end up staying for an hour. Félix Faure metro is around the corner.

A couple, or four friends who don't mind close quarters. You'll come back for the Eiffel Tower at dusk from the Pont de Bir-Hakeim — and remember the walk home more than the monument itself.

Przyjedź przed 10. po kurczaka z rożna ze stoiska przy rue du Commerce, a zjedz go później na ławce z widokiem na Sekwanę. To rytuał, którego warto przestrzegać.
