The cobbled courtyard muffles the city the moment the door shuts behind you. Up a few steps, an old artist's atelier — tall windows, the bones of the original workshop still visible.

Inside, the main room runs long and bright. A proper dining table sits under the daylight, the kitchen is fully kitted (oven, dishwasher, decent wine glasses), and the parental suite stays dark and quiet thanks to blackout curtains. A second room with bunks sleeps three more.

You're a five-minute walk from Place des Vosges. Closer still: the cafés on rue de Turenne, the falafel queue on rue des Rosiers, and Métro Saint-Paul for everywhere else. The Marais doesn't really sleep, but la cour does.

It suits a family of five, or two couples sharing. What stays with you is the contrast — the hum of the quartier at the gate, and the quiet on the other side of it.
