You're a few minutes from Rue Cler, the pedestrian market street where the 7e does its morning shopping — cheese, flowers, an espresso standing at the counter. The Tour Eiffel is a walk, not a métro ride.

Best for a couple on a short Paris trip who want a base that's central, quiet-ish, and their own. What stays with you: the long soak after a day on foot.

Olhe para cima, entre os edifícios, e a cúpula dourada de Les Invalides recorta-se contra o céu.

Para le matin, o Café Central, no número 40 da rue Cler, é o ponto de referência. Sente-se lá fora, peça um café allongé e uma tartine beurrée, e observe o bairro fazer as suas compras — oficiais reformados em blazers azul-marinho, mães com cestos de verga, o mesmo empregado de mesa que lá está há anos. É a versão do 7e que os residentes guardam para si.
