Forty-five square metres on the ground floor of Rue Portefoin, drawn by an architect who clearly thought in millimetres. You hear the Marais before you see it — a scooter, a closing shutter, a conversation in three languages.

The bedroom sits behind its own door, with an en-suite bath and air conditioning that actually works in August. A second bathroom hides a heated towel rail. The kitchen is built to cook in, not just reheat — full oven, dishwasher, proper wine glasses.

Step out and you're two minutes from Marché des Enfants Rouges, the covered market where Parisians have been buying their lunch since 1615. Rue de Bretagne handles the rest: cheese, wine, an espresso standing at the counter.

It sleeps four, but it's really written for a couple — or two — staying long enough to fall into a rhythm. The detail they'll remember: walking back from dinner and realising the whole quartier feels like theirs.

Cinque minuti a piedi e si arriva al Marché des Enfants Rouges, il più antico mercato coperto di Parigi, nascosto dietro un cancello verde in rue de Bretagne. Puntate sul banco marocchino — il tagine di Alain, mangiato a un tavolino traballante tra i secchi di fiori — o anche solo un caffè da L'Estaminet. Il sabato a mezzogiorno è pieno; il trucco è arrivare alle 11h, prima della fila.
