Lavie Maison: bagno termale Sauna

The sauna door clicks shut behind you, and the cedar smell rises before the heat does. It's just after dinner. The Chartrons is quiet outside.

Two bedrooms, a single-level layout, and a bathroom built around a proper jacuzzi tub. The kitchen handles real cooking — oven, dishwasher, the small things. A cot tucks in for families travelling with a baby.

Rue Notre-Dame runs a few streets over, lined with antique dealers and the kind of cafés where the espresso comes with a square of chocolate. Sunday mornings belong to the Marché des Chartrons, along the quai.

Six can sleep here, but it's really made for a family or two couples who want a slow Bordeaux weekend — the sauna after a day of walking, wine bars a few blocks away, and l'équipe on hand if you need a table booked.

Uscite sui miei e la luce fa tutto il lavoro — facciate di calcare pallido, la Garonne che scorre lenta alla vostra destra, un tram che scivola lungo il Cours du Médoc. I vecchi magazzini del vino si sono trasformati in negozi di antiquariato, bar di vini naturali e lunghi pranzi con terrazze che si riempiono entro le 12h30. In rue Notre-Dame, le vetrine guardano ancora al commercio: bottiglie in mostra, lavagne aggiornate a mano.

La domenica mattina appartiene al Marché des Chartrons lungo il quai. Arrivate prima delle 11h per le ostriche del Bassin d'Arcachon, sgusciate al momento, abbinate a un bicchiere di Entre-deux-Mers e una fetta di pain de seigle. È il tipo di rituale che i locali custodiscono gelosamente — rumoroso, senza fretta, e la migliore introduzione a come questa zona mangia davvero.
