The apartment unfolds across two levels. Upstairs, a street-facing living room and a proper kitchen — dishwasher, oven, coffee machine, wine glasses ready. Down a short flight of stairs, the bedroom sits tucked away in the basement, quiet and dim, with its own bathroom.

The quartier rewards small detours. Walk five minutes to Kitsuné under the arcades for a morning espresso, or cut through the Jardin du Palais Royal on your way to rue Saint-Honoré.

Built for two — a couple in town for a long weekend, perhaps, or a solo traveller who wants the Louvre at walking distance. What stays with you is the address itself: stepping out the door, and there it is.

Basta uscire e ci si ritrova sulla soglia del Palais Royal, dove la ghiaia scricchiola sotto i passi dei primi runner e le colonne a righe di Buren catturano la luce del mattino prima dell'arrivo dei turisti. I portici di rue de Montpensier conservano un lieve profumo di legno antico e cera d'api; poco più in là, il tabacchino di rue de Richelieu apre alle sette, vendendo Le Monde e sigarette sfuse ai librai che allestiscono le bancarelle dall'altra parte della strada.

Per un caffè, cinque minuti a piedi fino a Télescope, in rue Villedo — una sala stretta, un menù essenziale, un flat white per cui i residenti fanno la coda senza lamentarsi. Riportatelo oltre i cancelli del giardino e sedetevi su una panchina sotto i tigli. È il tipo di piccolo rituale che il quartiere ricompensa: arrivare presto, camminare lentamente, ordinare due volte la stessa cosa.
