This one suits a family of six, or friends stretching a long weekend into something slower. What stays with you is the passage itself — that quiet, covered shortcut you'll start using like a local by day two.

I marciapiedi sono stretti, il Palais Brongniart se ne sta in fondo a rue Vivienne come un tempio greco che ha perso la strada, e i tipografi e i commercianti di francobolli tengono ancora le serrande mezze aperte dalle 8.

Per il caffè, andate al Café Stern all'interno del Passage des Panoramas — un antico laboratorio di incisori trasformato in bistrot, con le boiserie originali degli anni Trenta dell'Ottocento ancora a rivestire le pareti. Ordinate l'œuf mayonnaise e un bicchiere di qualcosa del Jura a pranzo, e capirete perché i commercianti del quartiere vi mangiano, in un modo o nell'altro, da quasi due secoli.
