You're ten minutes on foot from the Arc de Triomphe, but the better walk is the other direction — rue de Lévis and its covered market, where the cheesemongers still shout and the rotisserie chickens turn all afternoon.

Best for a couple, or one plus a small dog (pets welcome, with a travel cot for little ones). What lingers is the soak after a long day of walking — Paris outside, hot water and silence inside.

Für le matin spazierst du zur Rue de Lévis — eine Marktstraße, die das Viertel seit über einem Jahrhundert versorgt. Halte an einem der Cafés für einen Noisette und ein Stück Flan; es ist die Art von Ort, an dem der Patron seine Stammgäste an ihrer Bestellung erkennt, und bis Samstag duftet die ganze Straße nach Brathähnchen.
