You're minutes from the sea, but the better walk is inland — towards Cours Saleya, where the flower market spills out every morning except Monday. Coffee at one of the cafés along rue Saint-François-de-Paule sets the tone.

It suits a family with a small one (there's a cot), or two couples sharing a long weekend. What stays with you is the sauna at midnight, salt still on your skin, le quartier asleep outside.

L'équipe wird dir raten, früh zu kommen; gegen Mittag steht man auf dem Markt Schulter an Schulter, und die guten Tomaten sind weg.
