Step out and Auteuil does its quiet thing — plane trees, a woman walking a small dog past the bakery on rue d'Auteuil, the hum of the 10 line pulling into Michel-Ange–Auteuil. The village feel is real here: low buildings, private hôtels behind gates, kids in navy uniforms cutting through Place Jean Lorrain on their way home.

Le marché d'Auteuil sets up on the Place three mornings a week — Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. Go Sunday around 10h for the rotisserie chicken (order it with the potatoes underneath, cooked in the drippings) and a bunch of radishes from the grower who's been there longer than anyone can remember.
