It suits a couple, or four friends who don't mind sharing a sofa bed, and who'd rather wake up to a neighbourhood marché than a hotel breakfast. Keys wait in the lockbox; l'équipe waits on the other end of the phone.

Step out onto rue Guy Môquet and it's still the working Paris that tourists skip — the fishmonger setting up ice at 8h, the Franprix awning, kids cutting through the square Yvonne-Godard on scooters. The 13 métro rumbles somewhere under your feet. North, the Batignolles rooftops; south, the long slow climb toward Montmartre. No postcards, just the quartier getting on with its morning.

Le marché des Batignolles takes over boulevard de Batignolles every Saturday — organic, loud, and slightly smug about it. Come for the rotisserie chicken with potatoes cooked in the drippings, or a jar of honey from the beekeeper who works the Hauts-de-Seine. Afterwards, l'équipe sends everyone to Le Bal café on impasse de la Défense for the flat white and the photography bookshop tucked behind it.
