Self check-in means you arrive on your own clock. A family of four, a couple extending the weekend — this is the house that lets you settle in rather than pass through.

Step out and the rue des Francs-Bourgeois is already moving — a delivery van blocking half the street, someone carrying a flat white from Boot Café, the bakery on the corner of rue de Sévigné with its queue spilling onto the pavement by 9h. Two minutes the other way and you're at Place des Vosges, where the arcades stay cool even in August and small children chase pigeons under the lindens.

For breakfast, send someone to Maison Plisson on boulevard Beaumarchais — the kouign-amann is the thing, still warm if you go before 10h. It's the quartier's unofficial pantry: cheese, wine, a few tables on the street, and the slow Marais ritual of running one errand and staying an hour.
