Bay windows facing the Cognacq-Jay Museum, and the soft afternoon light that comes with them. This is the first thing you notice.
Two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a sofa bed in the living room for a sixth. The kitchen is open-plan and properly equipped. The detail everyone talks about: a jacuzzi bath, waiting after a long day on the pavé.
Rue Elzévir sits a few doors down, the Musée Carnavalet a short walk, Place des Vosges just beyond. Wander toward Marché des Enfants Rouges for lunch — the oldest covered market in Paris, and still the best one for a quiet Tuesday.
For a family, a couple with friends, or a long weekend à deux. Self check-in whenever you land, l'équipe on the other end of a message, and that bathtub to come home to.
Step out and rue de Bretagne runs east to west with that particular Marais rhythm — the fromagerie's queue spilling onto the pavement by 11h, kids weaving around café chairs, the green awning of Marché des Enfants Rouges a block down. The buildings lean slightly, the way 17th-century buildings do, and the light between them is soft and grey until it isn't.
For le matin, walk to Café Charlot on the corner of rue de Saintonge — order a crème and a tartine beurrée and sit outside even in October. It's been the neighbourhood's living room for years, and you'll leave knowing which direction to walk next.

What a beautiful apartment. Amazing find! It was perfectly located for our first family trip to Paris. Felt very safe and quintessentially Parisian. If traveling in warm months, note that the AC is a single mini split in the entryway and there is no airflow to the bedrooms or bathroom. Sleeping wasn’t comfortable when it was 80f each day but beds were comfortable. Strangely no ventilation in the bathroom, but water pressure was great. Plenty of towels and great storage space.

We absolutely loved our time here. The location is outstanding! Beautiful, peaceful with lots of great shops and restaurants. Walkable to almost everything you would like to see. Jacques was extremely responsive and helpful from check in, luggage storage, and any issue or question we had. Outstanding! This was our first AirBnB experience and it leaves a high bar for others to match. My only small disappointment was that the listing stated 1.5 bathrooms and there was only one.
