Twelve square metres, a mezzanine tucked under the eaves, and a ladder that climbs at a true Parisian angle. This is small-space living, done with intention.
The kitchenette is fully kitted — oven, dishwasher, kettle, wine glasses on the shelf. Opaque window filters keep the street at arm's length. The bed sits above, ceiling at 90cm, best suited to those who don't mind a low sky overhead.
You're a few minutes from Opéra Garnier and the slope up to Pigalle. Rue des Martyrs is the address to remember — a market street of fromagers, pâtissiers, and a morning coffee crowd that never quite thins.
It's a studio for one, or two who travel light. The kind of pied-à-terre you book for a long weekend of wandering, then remember for the quiet of the mezzanine after a day on foot. L'équipe is a message away.
Step out and the 9e shows its hand quickly — the slope of rue des Martyrs pulling you uphill toward Pigalle, fishmongers icing their stalls by 8h, a florist arranging peonies on the pavement, the smell of butter from Sébastien Gaudard's pâtisserie three doors down. The tabac on the corner sells métro tickets and tomorrow's Le Monde to the same regulars every morning.
Make rue des Martyrs your anchor. It's the street locals send you to when you ask where they actually shop — Terra Corsa for charcuterie, Arnaud Delmontel for the baguette that won the city prize a few years back. Order it tradition, eat half of it before you're home. The 9e isn't performing for anyone; it's just getting on with breakfast.

Jacques’s place was right in Montmartre and very short walking distance from Sacre Coeur. There were also several metro stations very close by as well as many cafes and restaurants. We were not in Paris for long but were very easily able to get to all of the main attractions from this location. It would also have been good if you were looking to have a bit more of a relaxed vacation as well, since it had a sauna and several local establishments very close by.

Very good host! Nice area and cozy apartment (it’s very small tho) but still has everything you need. We had a great time and would defiently come back. For next time it would be nice to be informed at what time someone is coming to clean the apartment since we got woken up quite early and had to leave before the official check out time. All in all this accommodation is definitely recommendable.
