Exposed stone walls, thirty square metres, ground floor on a Latin Quarter side street. The kind of place where the city's noise softens the moment you close the door.
A small sauna tucked into the shower room — the unexpected luxury here. Add air conditioning, a proper open kitchen, and opaque window filters that keep the room yours alone. The sofa bed in the salon means four sleep, comfortably.
You're minutes from rue Mouffetard, where the morning marché sets up around the fromagers and the café tables spill toward Saint-Médard. Walk ten minutes and you're at the Jardin des Plantes.
Best for a couple, or friends who don't mind sharing the salon. What stays with you: stepping out of the sauna and into one of the oldest quartiers in Paris, all in the same hour.
Step out and the rue Mouffetard slope pulls you down almost by gravity — the fishmonger already hosing his stall at 8h, a queue for pain au chocolat outside Le Petit Grain, the Sorbonne kids cutting through with espressos in paper cups. The stones underfoot are the same ones Hemingway complained about in *A Moveable Feast*. Turn the other way and you're at Place de la Contrescarpe before you've finished your first coffee.
Le marché Monge (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday morning) is the anchor of le quartier. Skip the tourist crêpe stand and go straight to the rôtisseur — a demi-poulet, the potatoes underneath soaked in fat and rosemary, eaten back at la maison with a bottle from Caves Legrand. This is what a Sunday in the 5e is meant to taste like.

This was my third visit to Paris and easily my favorite. Second time in this neighborhood. I felt like a local, and I feel like it made all the difference. The place was clean and safe. It felt nice to have a couple of “neighbors” with the same host nearby. The apartment was perfect for what we needed, and was walkable to all of our favorite Paris locations and restaurants. The host was kind, responsive , respectful, and generous.

To sum up, I think around €800 would be a reasonable price for this accommodation. Overall, it’s good and I would recomm Positive: The place is in a great location, beautifully arranged, and very clean. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended! Negative: The only downside of our stay was that we had issues with the heating. The AC didn’t work properly and wouldn’t heat, so it was cold at times. The bathroom radiator also didn’t work.
