For coffee, cross under the arcades to Café Kitsuné in the Palais-Royal gardens — a tiny counter beside the rose beds where you order a matcha or an espresso and drink it standing, watching someone read Le Monde on a green metal chair. It's the quartier's slowest ten minutes, and the reason to stay on this side of the Louvre.
