Centre Pompidou is a two-minute walk. So is Café Beaubourg, if you like your morning coffee with a view of the Piano-Rogers pipes. The Marais unfolds east from your door — Vieille du Temple, rue des Rosiers, the Marché des Enfants Rouges twenty minutes on foot.

It sleeps eight, which makes it a place for families spreading out or friends taking a long weekend together. What stays with you is the location: everything worth seeing, reachable à pied.

Step out onto rue Saint-Merri and it's church bells before café noise — the flying buttresses of Saint-Merri itself hang over the street like a low ceiling, the Beaubourg pipes flash red and blue at the end of the block, and by 8h the boulangerie on rue du Renard has a queue of neighbours in slippers collecting baguettes and pains aux raisins.

For a slower morning, walk two minutes to Le Petit Marché on rue de Béarn, or settle in at Café Beaubourg on the piazza — the terrace faces the Centre Pompidou's escalators, and if you order a noisette and sit long enough, you'll watch the whole quartier pass: gallerists opening up, art students smoking, someone always sketching the fountain.
