It sleeps eight, which makes it a good answer for two families travelling together, or a group of friends who want their own rooms and a long soak at the end of the day. What stays with you is the quiet of the street.

Step out and the Marais does its trick: narrow pavements, the hum of scooters on rue de Rivoli a block south, a boulangerie already trailing butter smells before 8h. Hôtel de Ville sits five minutes west, Place des Vosges ten minutes east, and between them a grid of medieval streets where Sunday isn't a day off — the shops open, the queues form, l'équipe knows to send you out early.

For coffee, cross to Boot Café on rue du Pont aux Choux — a former cobbler's, three tables, a blue façade everyone photographs. Order the flat white and take it around the corner to square du Temple, where the pétanque players start around eleven and the benches face the right way for the morning sun.
