Twelve square metres, and every one of them considered. A coffee machine on the counter, wine glasses in the cupboard, a double bed dressed in proper linens.
The studio runs on the essentials done well: a real kitchen with dishwasher and oven, fast wifi, air conditioning, blackout curtains for slow mornings. Self-check-in by code, so arrive when you arrive.
Les Chartrons wears its old wine-trade bones lightly. The Sunday marché along the quais, the antique dealers on rue Notre-Dame, a café table close enough to the Garonne to feel the river weather.
Built for one, gentle with two. Pets welcome if you mention them. What stays with you is the ease of it — a small door, your own code, Bordeaux waiting outside.
Step outside and the light hits pale stone first — the low, wide façades of the old wine merchants' houses along rue Notre-Dame, shutters half-open, a delivery van easing past the antique dealers still setting out chairs. There's a boulangerie two doors down that starts pulling canelés from the oven around 8h, and the tram glides through quai des Chartrons without ever quite disturbing the morning.
On Sunday, le marché des Chartrons unspools along the quai — oysters from Arcachon shucked on the spot, a glass of Entre-deux-Mers before eleven, no one apologising for it. Go early, before the crowd from Saint-Louis arrives. If you only stop once, make it Chez Alriq's neighbours for the oysters; l'équipe there knows which producer came in that morning.

Beautiful clean apartment Positive: The apartment is very central and next to the tram. Decent for short stay and long stay. It has pretty much everything you need. Negative: I like everything about the apartment except the fact that the cleaners store room was next to our room so in the morning they were very loud while talking each other which was a shame considering that most of the apartments had people in. Maybe they should lower their voices when speaking.

Cozy and convenient stay Positive: Very clean and well equipped small studio. Huge tv screen. Around the corner from the tram. Staff was very helpful in responding to queries. Very clean and well thought through space. Negative: Semi basement level. But still enough light. Was good for 1 person, would have been tight if the pullout bed was used. Would be nice to have reading light by the bed and some cosy lighting.
