Push open the door off the cour pavée and the studio reveals itself in layers: exposed beams overhead, bare stone walls, teak parquet underfoot. The Marais, distilled into fifteen square metres.

Everything folds in cleverly. A leather sofa converts to a proper bed, the kitchen table tucks away when you're done with breakfast, and the espresso machine handles the morning ritual. Double-glazed windows keep la cour silent.

Rue de Bretagne is a five-minute walk — Marché des Enfants Rouges for Moroccan tagine at lunch, then a glass of natural wine at one of the counters nearby. Arts et Métiers métro handles the rest of Paris.

It's a space for two: a couple on a long weekend, arriving late thanks to the keybox, leaving with the memory of a quiet courtyard in the middle of the third.

Step out and the noise is mostly footsteps on stone — rue des Archives narrows here, the boulangerie at the corner pulls a queue by 8h, and the tabac across the way has been selling the same lottery tickets to the same regulars for thirty years. A few doors down, a green door opens into a cour you'd miss if you blinked.

For coffee, walk to Boot Café on rue du Pont aux Choux — six seats, a tiled façade left over from its days as a cobbler's, and a flat white worth the wait. Saturday mornings, the marché des Enfants Rouges is five minutes north: order the galettes from the Breton stall and eat them standing.
